BIOGRAPHY

Olivia Singleton is a British Soprano currently in her second year of Postgraduate studies at The Royal Academy of Music and also holds a Bachelor of Music degree with Honors from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.  

Olivia is currently under the esteemed tutelage of Mary Nelson and receives weekly coachings from distinguished pianist and coach, Joseph Middleton.

Having successfully auditioned for the Preparatory Opera Pathway at The Royal Academy of Music, Olivia will perform the role of Harry is Britten's opera, Albert Herring with RAO in March 2024 and is relishing every opportunity to broaden her operatic repertoire. In November 2022, Olivia starred in Stravinsky's Opera, The Rake's Progress, directed by Freddie Wake-Walker and conducted by Trevor Pinnock. Following this, Olivia was employed by Aylesbury Opera to assist with leading the chorus and performs regularly with the company. 

Olivia recently performed the role of Vixen (Bystrouška) in Royal Academy opera scenes from Janaçek's opera The Cunning Little Vixen (Příhody lišky Bystroušky). She has also  performed scenes in roles such as Frasquita in Bizet's Carmen, Noemie from Massenet's Cendrillion and more recently, Marie from Donizetti's La Fille du Régiment. 

Having performed in operas across Europe, Olivia holds extensive stage experience. Engagements include the UK premier of Jake Heggie's opera, Dead Man Walking at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland alongside operas L'Elisir D'Amore and Le Nozze di Figaro with the New Generation Festival in Florence, Italy. Olivia spent the summers of 2017 and 2019 in Florence, Italy and performed for Italian Royals in stunning Tuscan Villas and sung Faure’s Requiem at a midnight concert at the Chiesa di San Salvatore in Ognissanti.

In 2017, Olivia was a featured singer at Leeds Lieder Festival, performing pieces by Scottish composer, Graham Law. 

Olivia holds the title of Best Young Singer in the Molly Rob Competition adjudicated by world-renowned opera singer, Karen Cargill.

Having been appointed as Choral Scholar at churches such as St. Margarets Episcopal Church and Regular Soprano at Glasgow Cathedral and St. Marks Hamilton Terrace, Olivia has extensive Choral Experience and is currently a Choral Scholar at prestigious church, St. Johns, Hyde Park.

Before locating to London, Olivia has previously lived in Berlin, Germany for 1 year to learn German Language and during the Summer of 2022, Olivia was fortunate to work closely with world-famous German bass-baritone Thomas Quasthoff.
